Product Overview
LTC4316 is a single I²C/SMBus address translator. It enables the hardwired address of one or more I²C or SMBus secondary devices to be translated to a different address. This allows secondary devices with the same hardwired address to coexist on the same bus. Only discrete resistors are needed to select the new address and no software programming is required. It incorporates a pass-through mode which disables the address translation and allows general call addressing by the host. It is designed to automatically recover from abnormal bus conditions like bus stuck low or premature STOP bits. It is widely used in application such as I²C, SMBus, address expansion, address translation, servers, telecom etc.
- Resistor configurable address translation
- No software programming required, input supply range is 2.25V to 5.5V
- Compatible with SMBus, I²C and I²C fast mode
- Pass-through mode allows general call addressing
- ±4KV HBM ESD ruggedness
- Level translation for 2.5V, 3.3V and 5V buses
- Stuck bus timeout, support bus hot swap
- Prevents SDA and SCL corruption during live board insertion and removal

- Operating temperature is -40°C to 85°C, packaging style is 10-lead plastic MSOP
